Who We Are

The Hanoi International Women’s Club (HIWC) is a non-profit group whose membership is open to all expatriates living in Hanoi, Vietnam. Whether you are living in Hanoi, moving to Hanoi or thinking about moving to Hanoi, the HIWC has information and events for every expatriate.

The objectives of the HIWC are to promote the development of social, charitable and cultural activities among its members, the Hanoi expatriate community, and the people of Vietnam; and to provide a forum for expatriates to identify and discuss issues of common interest regarding their personal and professional lives in Vietnam. Raising funds has always been at the forefront of all HIWC activities and the Annual Charity Bazaar has become a signature event of the Club, generating most of our charitable funds. These funds are used to finance our Community Aid Projects, which improve the lives of disadvantaged women and children, and small communities in Hanoi.

We know that moving to Hanoi and then living in Hanoi can be both rewarding and challenging, and by providing a supportive network for all Hanoi expats, we know that you will learn to love Hanoi, just like we do.

Upcoming Events

We hold regular events for meeting up with Hanoi expat newcomers and regulars alike at exciting venues. Also there are usually lucky prize draws held at these events so join the HIWC to be in with a chance to win. Find out more by viewing our list of upcoming events and activities.

Network Girls

HIWC Board members (from left) Sarah, Erica and Gill today met Van Ly, Co-Organiser, Network Girls, Ho Chi Minh City (far right) (Network Girls Ho Chi Minh City). Network Girls hold a monthly social/networking breakfast or evening cocktail for professional women and we were keen to learn more from Van Ly. It was a great conversation with plenty of areas of mutual interest (we also all seem to like the colour green!).

If you are a working HIWC member who finds it hard to get along to our coffee mornings/other day time activities, please let us know by commenting here if you'd be interested in early morning/ evening get-togethers with other professional women, and any other ideas you may have. We will also send out an email shortly.

Board Brainstorming, 23 July 2015

We discussed our vision and activities for 2015/16 - how we could "strengthen our product" by improving existing activities and offering some new ones. We re-focused some Board roles to help us improve communications, including the long overdue re-design of our website. We agreed to explore more activities for working members and discussed reinforcing our friendships with other groups of women.
