Hanoi International Womens Club - HIWC

E-mail Print PDF

HIWC: The Hanoi International Women's Club is a non-profit group whose membership is open to all expatriate women living in Vietnam. Formed by a group of 30 Diplomatic ladies in 1986, the HIWC has today evolved into a dynamic entity with an average annual membership of 250 - 400 women from approximately 50 countries.

The objectives of the HIWC: are to promote the development of social, charitable and cultural activities among its members, the Hanoi based expatriate community, and the people of Vietnam; and to provide a forum for expatriate women to identify and discuss issues of common interest regarding their personal and professional lives in Vietnam.

Charities: Raising funds has always been at the forefront of all HIWC activities and the Annual Charity Bazaar has become a signature event of the Club, generating almost 90 % of charitable funds. These funds are used to finance our Community Aid Projects, which improve the lives of disadvantaged women and children, and small communities in Hanoi.

The Club organizes several social events and activities for the benefit of its members.

September's Lotus News

There will be a change in the distribution of September's Lotus News due to the large number of members departing Hanoi. Consequently, the magazine will be available for all current members who renew their membership and new members at the registration desk of our next Coffee Morning. Simply show your yellow membership card (2010/2011) at the registration desk when you arrive or hand your completed membership renewal form in at the membership table.  The volunteers behind at the table will be happy to hand you a copy of your Lotus News.

This process will help reduce printing and fuel costs that are associated with the production and distribution of an additional 200 magazines which may no longer be needed. We hope all members will understand our rationale behind this decision.

Please note that October's Lotus News will only be delivered to the homes of new and renewing members 2010/ 2011 so we ask you to try to renew your membership at our September events to ensure the delivery.
